CAMP 2024 – Summer Youth Advocacy Club
AFRIDAC Community Advocacy and Mentoring Programme (CAMP) was designed in recognition of the yearning in the Black community to have increased capacity to advocate for social change in local policies and service delivery. CAMP has trained over 60 Community Advocates in the UK who are local to their community, passionate about local issues and now able to make changes with the right skills.

AFRIDAC CAMP Summer Youth Advocacy Club is a 5-day intensive blended advocacy training, filming and mentoring support for 20 Black young adults (aged 16 to 25 years old) in London. The participants will undergo a blended training for 5 days (presentations, film making workshops, case studies, group work, videos, guests, trip to Westminster Palace) and 3 months of 1-2-1 mentoring to support each participant in implementing their Action Plan. Recruited beneficiaries will be trained to identify issues in their community and develop strategies to influence change. Be able to scope stakeholders and understand how to communicate key messages to diverse audiences. Be able to monitor and evaluate advocacy activities in their community. Community Advocates will have the skill to share their story and give voice to their community or group.
